Alicia’s Year in Review:

2017: The Year of Book Signings!
This year, I had so many wonderful opportunities to meet some pretty darn awesome readers and authors during the following book signings! A HUGE thank you to the organizers of these incredible events!
Wicked in the Quad Cities, North Iowa Book Bash, Wisconsin Author Festival, New Berlin Local Author Fair, Writers on the River, Brew City Book Signing

My husband and I completed some home renovations over the summer, including our front porch. Our little cleaning project turned into something much bigger when the power washer chipped away all the paint on the porch! It was hard work, but definitely a blessing in disguise because a power washer would’ve never given us this end result.

My 12-year-old son read about the 2017 Great American Solar Eclipse in one of his science books a couple of years ago, and ever since, he’s been determined to see it in full totality. How could I say no? So, we set off to St. Louis, Missouri this summer to see the eclipse and the gateway arch! It was definitely a fantastic experience that we’ll never forget!

My BFF got married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico last month! It was such an honor to be a part her wedding day. We had some super fun times, and although I missed my kids, I definitely didn’t mind leaving the cold Wisconsin weather behind!

Upcoming Book Signing Event:

Join Me and 50+ Authors!
My next signing event will be at the North Iowa Book Bash in Clear Lake, IA on April 7th. I hope to see you there!

Chloe’s Spiked Cider Recipe:

If you’ve read The Fragile Line Series, you know that Chloe made some delicious spiked cider to take to Matt’s family’s house on Christmas.

Here’s her recipe to keep you warm this winter!

prep time: 5 mins
cook time: 6 hours
total time: 6 hours 5 mins

This semi-homemade spiked apple cider uses store-bought apple cider infused with cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and citrus. Right before serving it’s topped off with your favorite whiskey or bourbon for the perfect comforting winter cocktail!

Serves: 20

1 gallon apple cider
2 cinnamon sticks
4 star anise
4 tsp. whole cloves
2 oranges, sliced (plus more for garnish)
2 lemons, sliced (plus more for garnish)
1 liter of good whiskey or bourbon (Chloe uses Cherry Whiskey 😉 )

Add apple cider, cinnamon sticks, star anise, whole cloves, oranges, and lemons into the slow-cooker. Turn the heat on low and cook for 6-7 hours.

Before serving, take out all of the whole spices, oranges, and lemons. Pour whiskey or bourbon in. Stir and serve.
